How does a young man grow up in the Pacific Northwest, go to a Bible College in Missouri, and spend most of the next 35 years in Oklahoma? Well, it could only be God. As Pam and I begin our ministry with Cherokee Hills, we are so excited to see what God is up to in our lives and in the lives of His church in Oklahoma City. Pam and I have been married for 35 years. We have four children that live in Oklahoma, Texas and Washington, 3 sons in law, and 7 grandchildren. We love our family and we love God’s church. We believe our best days are yet to come and because of that we are excited to share those days with you!
My wife Kendra and I met and married while attending Ozark Christian College and have since been on a journey that has taken us around the world and back. We have served in student ministry and as church planters in Japan. Through all our experiences we have fostered a passion for reaching the lost and seeing the healing power of the gospel work through the local church. Along the way we have been blessed with three wonderful little girls who keep our world bright: Evey, Lily and Julia. We love OKC and Cherokee Hills, and it sure doesn’t hurt that the greatest NBA team on the planet resides here either! THUNDER UP!
In one of the greatest relational coup d’etats in the history of mankind, I somehow convinced the woman of my dreams that she should spend the rest of her life being married to me.Nearly 20 years later, I am still pinching myself that Joy still lets me call her mine. On top of that, we have two fascinating boys, Jenson and Jace that are on this adventure with us. I am proud to be a born and raised Kansan that has found a home in Oklahoma. I am in my element with a group of teenagers and am honored that I can speak truth and love into their lives. For 22 years, God has called me to share Christ with students, and I am honored to continue that calling here at Cherokee Hills.
I consider myself to be one of the lucky ones who was fortunate enough to grow up in a Christian home. I never missed a day of church unless I was sick, went to a Christian College, and always assumed that I would become a supportive stay at home mom/wife to my minister husband. Many of those things came to pass. I have enjoyed being the wife of a youth minister for 10 years and I am so in love with our three daughters that God has blessed us with. However, the past 10 years have also shown me that my plans are nothing compare to God’s. He has led me to places that I never thought I would go willingly, and now He has blessed me with the opportunity to lead our Children’s Ministry and Preschool. I am humbled and so grateful to have the privilege of helping parents build a Biblical foundation in their children’s lives. I also have a passion for coffee, cake decorating, reading, and of course the OKC Thunder!
Originally from Missouri, I grew up a son of a pastor. Music was always a large part of our home and I began leading worship in high school. Ten years later, I still love it and am grateful that God allows me to use music as a tool to show others His truths. I graduated college with a degree in Music and Worship Ministry and also met and married my wife, Hannah, while attending. We are coming up on five years of marriage and I can honestly say, it only gets better with time. We started attending Cherokee Hills in December of 2014 after I accepted an interim worship role and have been here ever since. We are thankful for the people God has allowed us to serve beside and look forward to how He will continue to use Cherokee Hills for His purpose.
I met, fell in love with and married my husband, Lenny, while attending Midwest Christian College in the early 80’s. Friends from High school accused me of going to Bible College just to get an “MRS” degree. Guess they were right. Over 20 years ago, I was given the opportunity to do the one thing I’d always wanted to do: follow in my
Mother’s footsteps and be a Church Secretary. Lenny and I have enjoyed working alongside one another and we hope to continue serving Christ and our church family for many years to come.
